The
Taylors Bridge Flag
was chosen to reflect the colors of our fire trucks. When we began the
fire department, there was a
purpose and meaning behind what we decided the color scheme
would be. The patch colors were also designed with a purpose. Listed
below is what the colors, and star represents.
White represents the color of our fire trucks. There are no other
fire trucks in our county that are white. White is associated with
light, goodness, innocence and safety. We find these traits special
because everyone has goodness in their hearts during a tragic incident.
Red is
also painted on our trucks, in the middle as a thin red line. Red is
the color of fire and blood, so it is associated with
energy, danger, strength, and power. But more importantly, the Red
depicts the courage found deep in each firefighter's blood to
conquer their fears in order to save and protect life and property.
Black
represents formality, death and mystery. We are forever indebted to the
firefighters that have gone home before us, showing the way for
firefighters of today. We remember the sacrifices of our fallen
firefighters, and their families left behind. And, we hold true that
next call is unknown, therefore, make each day a full and loving day
with family and friends.
Blue
symbolizes trust, loyalty, confidence and truth. Blue signifies our
total commitment to be trust worthy and loyalty
to each citizen we serve in our community. We want you to
have confidence in our ability to provide the best protection possible.
Yellow
represents intelligence and the ability to learn. We pledge to provide
and participate in firefighting and rescue training classes to
continue to stay in step with new technologies and changes that
evolve each year.
The Star
Is in
honor of our fallen firefighter, Brian Cannon and the commitment
of our firefighters of Taylors Bridge to serve our community.
